Carlo Hauner Stools

A set of four rare bar-stools by Carlo Hauner Italy, 1950’S. Steel frame and rotan seat.

Born in Brescia but of Bohemian origins, after some collective and personal exhibitions between Brescia and Milan, in 1948 he took part in the Venice Biennale . [1] In the following years he moved to Brazil , dedicating himself to applied design in the textile sector, in ceramic , furniture [2] and architecture. [3] Works by him are exhibited at the Sao Paulo Museum of Art in Brazil. In 1956 he exhibited at the Galleria Montenapoleone in Milan [4] and in 1965at the Vismara Contemporary Art Gallery, also in Milan, with the artistic and family couple Enrico Ragni and Pier Carla Reghenzi .
His restless and complex personality and the different experiences matured in the fields of ceramics and industrial design lead him to research and face an original and constantly evolving artistic development, verifying always new and articulated pictorial practices that combine the Picasso neo -expressionist renewal with the abstract anarchist expressionism , and then informal art and pop art
